sibling love.

last weekend my sister kourtney and her family were in town for kason's farewell! we were able to go to temple square to see the lights and had a good time.
kason's talk was awesome and his farewell went really well. i am so proud of him! he is no longer leaving this week, his leave date got extended to january 2nd since his visa hasn't come yet. and he is now going to be going to the provo mtc to start out with.

dawson and i are going to be able to spend time with both families these next few days and i'm so grateful for that. and kourtney will be out here this following weekend also!

santa paws.

yes, we seriously did this.
nick and madison too.
city creek mall had a santa paws night thursday nightand we decided we all HAD to go to it.ya know, since our dogs really knew what was going on and they really cared about seeing santa and everything. throughtout
our night we met some of the craziest friendliest dog people.

after we saw santa clause, we were walking when i suddenly stopped dawson from stepping in dog poo. we quickly realized it was jude's dog poo. within seconds ash started pooping and addie (nick and madison's dog) right after that. all three dogs all pooped on the sidewalk at the same time! how on earth did they plan that? it was pretty embarrassing.

dogs.

and this is our family.

last night we had our good friends over for a dinner and white elephant christmas party. it was so much fun! i love when all our friends can get together, especially my usu roommates who i don't get to see as often as i'd like. not only did daws and i get our white elephant gifts we ended up with, but we were able to keep BOTH the ghetto pieces of furniture our friends got but wouldn't take home. thanks guys!

so...we're watching walking dead. we're up to episode 5 of season 3 and holy COW it is crazy and horrifying and stressful. and i don't know why we watch it but it is SO addicting.

no-sew ruffle tree skirt. kool kids kraft.

i deleted a few unneeded pictures from my old blog and my picture posting problem is postponed. that was some fine alliteration if i do say so myself.

i've caught the craft bug. i never thought i would grow up and enjoy making crafts, like my grandma.
[love you grandma, and i admire your crafts. just never thought i'd like doing that kind of stuff...]

well i made a tree skirt! i got this idea from madison because we were going to make them together but then never did. but why was this tree skirt perfect for me? because i CAN'T SEW.
no-sew ruffle tree skirt.
you need:
*4.5 X 4.5 canvas [i used a 5X5 painter's drop cloth]
*3-4 yards of linen, mine was cotton
*some extra ribbon
*scissors, measuring tape, a glue gun, and a ton of patience

the tutorial i used is here.

you just cut the canvas into your tree skirt shape, cut the linen into 2" strips, and ruffle the linen in layers as you glue it to the canvas. and wa-la!
you're actually supposed to fill the whole canvas, but we thought it was fun to have it half full and two-toned.

i guess i like doing crafts now because i have a place of my own to take care of and decorate.

and i loooove decorating for christmas!!!

i enjoyed my first lake family bingo on saturday. dawson and his cousins have been talking this thing up pretty much since i've known him, and i wasn't disappointed! i didn't go last year because dawson still thought it might have been too soon...that's how serious this business is.
wasn't doing too well at first...but we both ended up bringing home some treasures!

and the lds christmas devotional tonight...good stuff. so blessed.

not really sure what happens next...

i was about to write a post about the tree skirt i made and all our christmas decorations that i love accompanied with a bunch of pictures but...

I'M OUT OF PICTURE SPACE!!!

i had heard other people complaining about this lately and thought...well that sucks for them! good thing i haven't posted too many pictures yet! the thought occurred to me that i should start being more conservative with posting pictures but i guess that thought came too late.

so i really don't know what to do now. there's not much point of my blog if i can't post pictures...i hadn't even gotten to the best of my wedding pictures yet (that's probably where all my space went). so i'm either going to have to delete some pictures already posted :(, or stop blogging :(, or pay to blog. and call me prideful but don't other people get paid to blog? if i start paying i am NOT playing my cards right.

when i grow up i'm going to go on a mission. with my hot husband elder lake as my companion (yes, he will still be hot at that time). we will also go on other trips around the world. we will visit jerusalem, macchu picchu, and rome if at that time we haven't been there yet. and we will spoil the crap out of our posterity. and i will hopefully be better at cooking then so i can make delicious meals for our huge family. i can't wait.

my books for nursing school are going to cost a thousand dollars. literally, a thousand dollars.

there are three and a half more weeks until my brother is GONE for two years. what the heck?

if anyone knows a way out of this limited picture space thing, please let me know.
