Meet the Lakes

the mr.

dawson is my best friend, husband, and man of my dreams. he enjoys skiing, golfing, biking, and the utah utes. he is the hardest worker and happiest person i know. he is constantly pushing me to be better and experience life more. he served a two year LDS mission in the west indies (caribbean area) before we met. he received his bachelor's degree in new media communications from the university of utah and works as a shipping consultant.

 the mrs.

i am kandis, the writer of the blog. i love first and foremost being a wife and mother, and am in the constant process of making a home. i received my bachelor's of science in nursing, work as a RN, and enjoy reading, hiking, & yoga. when i grow up i want to travel the world with my husband at my side.

gracelyn.

gracelyn is our amazing baby girl who came along june 2014. she loud, energetic, sweet, smart, and funny. she is the light of our lives and while she keeps us always busy, she also makes us grateful every day for the opportunity to be parents.

jude.

jude is a border aussie with a crazy blue eye and crazy spirit. we brought him home from our honeymoon as a six week old puppy and we have loved his energy and playfulness ever since. he greets anyone who walks through our door with a toy and works very hard to express himself to us.

ash.

ash joined our family about five months after jude did. she is part lab and part mystery. we've had suggested to us that she is part border collie, blue healer, or even weiner dog. personally, we think she's gotta be part otter. ash is a sweet and affectionate dog who will pop your personal space bubble with her nose and sit on you if she gets the chance.

two halves of a whole.

we fell in love fall 2011 and were married spring 2012. gacelyn came along in june of 2014. we are best friends who together love being parents, working and playing, house projects, eating, st george, shooting our guns, boating, camping, staying active, our baby girl and two dog children, good music, adventures, and spending time with our family & our friends. we are blessed to be able to embark on the adventures of life and marriage together!
