our honeymoon & the baby.

our honeymoon was amazing! we spent the first night in hotel park city and woke up to it snowing! it was crazy that it was snowing in the end of may but it was so pretty! we then headed down to st. george where we swam, four wheeled, hiked, and just relaxed.

we went to zion's for a day to hike angel's landing. i had never been to zion's or done angel's landing before but  had heard a lot about it. i kept asking daws if it was hard and he'd respond "not at all, it's a walk in the park!" and tell me how him and his brothers have raced up the whole thing before. but the announcements on the bus told us it was a "strenuous hike" and as we approached the trail there were signs of people falling off cliffs, so i was beginning to doubt that it was really going to be a "walk in the park". and it wasn't. the trail is paved, as dawson had told me, but for me the beginning of the hike was really steep! i had to take some breaks to catch my breath and it made me realize i need to get myself into better shape and get better at hiking if i'm going to keep up with this guy! it was amazing though. i at least wasn't scared at all and the top was amazing! it was incredible to just sit so high up and relax and talk and enjoy the view with my husband!

our last evening in st. geezy, dawson had the brilliant idea to look at dogs on ksl. now anyone who knows us could tell you this was a bad (or maybe good?) idea, because we are both dog lovers. there happened to be a litter of half australian shepherds and half border collies--dawson's dream dog--for sale nearby. the rest of the night we went back and forth with whether or not we should just call to see if there were any left. well, when we did call we found out none of them had been sold yet. then we decided to stop right there and not go see them, because once we'd go look at them, we'd be certain to buy one, and who just brings a dog home from their honeymoon like that?

well, we went back and forth with the idea for the rest of the night and pretty much all day the next day, and while we were out the next day, the last day of our trip, we went and looked at the dogs.

and there he was, the pick of the litter, a male with one blue eye and a merle coat. and we bought him and named him jude.

jude is growing steadily, we can't really tell a whole lot because we see him every day, but friends and family members have been commenting on how big he's getting. he's a really hyper and active dog, and some times he drives me crazy, but we love him so much, and boy does he love us back. we have a lot of fun with him and he brings a lot of happiness into our home!

and in case anybody's wondering, i love being married.
