fall leaves & football.

it's autumn time! it was this time last year i was falling in love with that husband of mine.
since dawson is gone all day throughout the week it makes the little time we have together in the evenings, and all the time we have together over the weekend so much more worth it.

being married to dawson means lots of watching football. i've always liked football, but i'm starting to love it even more since we've been watching it so much and since my little brother kody started playing football this year.
friday night we went camping up in the bountiful hills. our friends allie and taylor came up with us and didn't spend the night. the drive up with the colored leaves was amazing and then we sat around the campfire for hours while we roasted hot dogs and marshmallows and talked. daws and i slept under the stars in the back of the truck and woke up to a beautiful sunrise.
happy sunday all!

the cone of shame.

the cone of shame is gone!
sorry for the little scream when i thought he might break his neck...

also, we got a whirly pop popcorn maker. i have probably gained ten pounds since but it was definitely a worthy investment.

5.26.12. temple wedding.

i'm going to start posting a little series about our wedding. i partly want to do this so those family and friends who weren't able to be there can get an idea of how the day went, and i mostly want to do this so that i can always have an organized look on the best day of my life.

we were married on may 26 in the bountiful temple. the bountiful temple is my favorite temple, it hung in a frame on my bedroom wall growing up. you can see it from the freeway, the high school, both my parents' homes, and in most places in bountiful. i grew up always being able to look up to the bountiful temple.

after we came out of the temple we were able to take some pictures in front of the temple doors with our families and friends before it started raining! we were able to take some more under some shelter but the rest of the day it was raining pretty hard. thank goodness the rest of our events were all inside and we still got some pictures outside! it worked out perfect, and we both actually enjoyed the rainy weather the rest of the day.

our photographer was jacki stoddard-miller, and i would recommend her any day of the week.

ten things i haven't told you.

1.] my dad's uncle gave our family (us, my dad, and my brothers) an old '71 ford truck to restore and keep. it's the new kendall family project!

2.] my husband is a handyman. he replaced our garbage disposal, installed a new kitchen sink faucet, and fixed our tub faucet (oh, the joys of home ownership). he is also constantly fixing up our yard and making it look better. he's quite the landscaper.

3.]  the first week of august we went to st. george with dawson's family - the great lakes! we were up early to go boating almost every day at quail creek, hiked, swam, and enjoyed the beautiful st george!
pedicures with my sisters-in-law. i love my new family!

4.] our house is awesome. i love being home. okay, i've probably told you that already.

5.] we also spent a weekend in elko at my sister's with my dad and brother. it was so fun to spend time with my sister and her husband and my niece. we went for a hike in lamoille canyon while we were there.
my zonked niece kendal.

6.] i love having a garden! we have had a ton of grapes and peaches (we didn't actually plant those they were here before, so we pretty much just moved in and they grew), and our vegetables that we planted have also been great. we've had a lot of zucchinis and also some tomatoes and peppers.
my first time making zucchini bread! i loved it!
i also learned from dawson's mom how to make jam and jelly.

7.] i finished my summer class and dawson's back to school. i'm taking a break this semester and so i'm just working. sometimes it's kind of a bummer when i get off at 3 and dawson doesn't get home from class until 8:30, but i'm finding ways to keep busy. we're taking a thursday night institute class together at the u, which we've loved. one good thing about school starting though, is college football! go utes!

this was taken on the way home from the u last week. gorgeous!

8.] i got a bike! i love it!

9.] my brother kason is going on a mission! he opened his call last week and is going to the brazil manaus mission! he leaves december 27th. his mission actually borders dawson's to the south and is right on the amazon! i am so stoked for him!

10.] for labor day we hiked up to elephant rock with dawson's parents. jude loved it! he was born to be in the outdoors.

11.] one more thing, speaking of jude, he got neutered yesterday. he has to wear this cone for ten days! ten days! the poor guy. he is not a fan of the dang thing, it's hard for him to see around him and he keeps running into things.
let's be honest, this guy has stolen my heart.

well there's a quick catch-up.
