spring semester: demolished.

i cannot even begin to tell you what a relief it is that i just turned in my last assignments for the semester after completing my last final earlier today.

wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohoooooooo!

this semester has been so difficult for me. chemistry has never been a strong point for me, microbiology online was an awful idea, and overall being engaged through this whole semester has just made it really hard for me to really focus on school. why would i spend time studying when i could plan my wedding, look at homes, or hang out with my super hott fiance? and why would i really care about organelle functions and which bacteria cause what diseases when i have reception decorations and home furniture running through my mind all the time? plus looking for a job has also taken a lot of my attention the past few months. but i made it out alive. i might not have passed with flying colors, but i definitely passed with colors.

this is how i feel sometimes, and i'm not actually in nursing school yet. summer semester starts in two and a half weeks. good thing i'm only taking classes part time cuz there's going to be a lot going on.

good luck with finals everyone!

this kid turned the big 2-2 this week! i sure do love him!

advice.

some advice from the apostles and prophet:
of course, these aren't word-for-word, just what i got out of their talks.

  • family first. family was obviously a BIG theme of this conference. there were so many talks given about the importance of family and the importance of rearing children. my favorite was by elder packer, but many others gave awesome and inspiring talks along with words of encouragement.
  • a mortal body is a miracle and a blessing. the worth of every soul is great in the sight of God. - elder nelson and brother rasband
  • in the race of life, take time to enjoy it and endure to the end. - president monson
  • forgiveness is a Godlike attribute. forgive. forgive others and forgive yourself. - elder holland
  • if you judge others or show destructive attitude toward others, stop it. - president uchtdorf

some advice my dad gave me:

  • sometimes we have to take life one day at a time and do our absolute best in that day. we cannot always control what is going to happen tomorrow, or in a week, or in a month. if we obsess over planning too far into the future it becomes very overwhelming and can be discouraging. just do your very best now.

some advice from me:

  • choose the kind of boy who comes over to your family's home on a conference sunday morning to make everyone waffles.
  • if you ever feel like you should get a priesthood blessing, get one. don't wait until you're having a mental or emotional breakdown.
  • sometimes you have to act. ready or not. it will all work out.
  • stop telling yourself you aren't good enough.
  • compliment yourself instead.
  • never take being young and healthy for granted.
